IGB Member Chosen for Top Paper at Regulatory and Systems Genomics Conference

Saurabh Sinha, Associate Professor of Computer Science, and colleagues chosen for Top Ten Paper Award at the recent RECOMB/ISCB Conference on Regulatory and Systems Genomics.

The International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) recently held their regulatory genomics conference, RECOMB, where the top papers in the field of regulatory and systems genomics were recognized.

Sinha’s paper, “Computational identification of diverse mechanisms underlying transcription factor-DNA occupancy,” was part of the annual best paper list, which is  based on a community-wide nomination, followed by voting open to all participants of the conference. Awards were announced by Manolis Kellis, of MIT.

The goal is to identify seminal papers that have a lasting impact in the field of regulatory and systems genomics, including new biological insights or key computational methodologies for interpreting biological datasets. The papers were honored at an awards ceremony in Toronto during the RECOMB/ISCB Conference, November 8-12, 2013.

Relevant areas covered Motifs, Grammars, Networks, Systems, Variation, Disease, Personal Genomics, GWAS interpretation, Regulatory Evolution, Comparative genomics, Epigenomics, Physical modeling, Dataset Integration, Splicing regulation, transcriptional regulation, and all areas of gene and genome regulation at the systems level.
