Join us for Genome Day on November 3rd at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum

Orpheum Children’s Science Museum, 346 N. Neil Street, Champaign

Join the IGB for for a day of learning about genomes, genes, DNA, and evolution at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum in Champaign on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

Targeted for grade-school children but accessible and welcome to all ages, there will be exhibits and activities available to present the research at the IGB, such as:

The Invincible Invertebrate! An introduction for kids to observe how regeneration works in planarian flatworms.

Replicating a Giant's DNA! Find your matching base and form a huge DNA chain out of people to replicate and heal the giant.

Investigate a Cow's Microbes! Take mock samples of microbes that live inside a cow and view the actual microbes within through a microscope.

Admission to the event and museum will be free.
