The IGB Microscopy and Imaging Facility currently has an Andor Technology Revolution System Spinning Disk Confocal Microscope (06-0217-MAB). This system is running the Andor IQ software platform having a Yokagawa CSU22 realtime spinning disk confocal unit (5000 RPM) with 488 (25 mW), 532 (20 mW) and 635 (25 mW) nm diode pumped solid state (DPSS) laser lines and appropriate dichroic mirrors and emission filter sets  for respective excitation laser lines and an Andor iXon DV-887-BV  512x512 16 micron square pixel monochrome back illuminated EMCCD Techlology camera  with peak quantum yield >90% at 550 nm (click here for the full specifications) and capable of acquiring around 35 full frames per sec. This has ultra precision(1 nm repeatability and 2 nm resolution) Piezo Z Specimen Stage  for fast 4D imaging up to 100 optical sections per sec with both 3x1” slide and 35 mm petri dish holders fitted on an Olympus IX71 inverted microscope with epifluorescence filter cubes for DAPI, FITC and TRITC.
