IGB Alcohol Approval Policy

Alcoholic beverages may be possessed and consumed only at approved events (i.e. approved Space Request Form and approved Alcohol Approval Form). Alcoholic beverages must only be served by an approved caterer.  Alcohol may not be sold in the building or be brought into the building by anyone except an approved caterer. If a caterer will be serving alcohol, an Alcohol Approval Form will be completed by the Special Events Team and submitted to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs based on the information provided on the Space Request Form.

All events that serve alcohol should comply with the Institute for Genomic Biology Alcohol Approval Policy, as well as all requirements of the University's Alcohol Management Policy.

Please note that The Institute for Genomic Biology reserves the right to disapprove any request for alcohol service which it feels is not in the best interest of the Institute.

As a general rule, weekday events where alcohol is served in the concourse café space may not begin until 4:00 p.m.
