The Veritas instrument provides the ability to capture individual cells from a tissue sample, and then image the cells to verify that the correct cells were harvested for down stream extraction of RNA or DNA. Cells are captured using a NIH developed technique that uses an IR laser to attach a cap to the cells of interest. Larger samples can be collected by cutting out the area of interest with a UV laser and attaching the sample to the cap with a few anchor points.
