Wenyan Mei joins the IGB

Professor Wenyan Mei has joined the IGB as an affiliate member in the Microbiome Metabolic Engineering (MME) Research Theme. Dr. Mei is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Comparative Biosciences in the College of Veterninary Medicine. She received her Ph.D. from the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Her lab is interested in understanding how stem cells control their self-renewal and differentiation, and how their disregulation causes diseases.


Hannah McClellan joins the IGB

Hannah McClellan recently joined the IGB as an Office Support Associate. Prior to starting at the IGB, Hannah worked for the Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs and Global Strategies. She has been with the University for a little over 2 years.

Jessica Smith joins the IGB

Jessica Smith recently joined IGB as an Office Manager for CGD, BSD, Personal Nutrition Initiative and External Relations. Prior to joining the IGB, she was an Office Manager supporting three departments for the School of Literatures, Cultures, and Linguistics under the University’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. She’s been with the University of Illinois for just under 2 years. Jessica is an Urbana native, married with two daughters, and proud owner of a local food truck.

Sheena Marshall joins the IGB

Sheena Marshall, a native of Champaign, IL. Sheena recently joined IGB as an Account Technician. Prior to joining IGB, she worked at FMS Solutions as an Account Clerk. Sheena’s philosophy is live, love, laugh and enjoy life!
