Gene Robinson Named IGB Director

University of Illinois entomologist and neuroscientist Gene E. Robinson has been named director of the Institute for Genomic Biology, pending approval of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees.

Professor Robinson has headed the institute on an interim basis since March 2011, and previously was leader of the IGB research theme Genomics of Neural and Behavioral Plasticity.

Robert Easter, interim vice chancellor for research, announced the appointment to administrators on January 10.
