The Schook lab is pleased to announce that two of our former graduate research assistants, Erin Leutkemeier and Kristy Kuzmak were awarded their Ph.D. in Animal Science from the University of Illinois at the graduation ceremony on May 17, 2009.

Dr. Erin Leutkemeier earned her Ph.D. in December 2008 and moved to Rockville, Maryland. Returning to the U of I to attend the May 17th graduation ceremony, Erin was accompanied by her husband, parents and in-laws.

 Erin has a postdoctoral position with NIH.  Her lab works with developmental disorders including Greg cephalopolysyndactyly syndrome (GCPS) and Pallister-Hall syndrome (PHS).

Dr. Kristy Kuzmak who received her MBA from the University of Illinois in 2008, has now earned her Ph.D., May 2009. Kristy promises to send us an update soon regarding her future plans.
