Frequently Asked Questions

Which file types do you accept?

We strongly recommend PDFs as they retain the highest quality and accuracy. Another popular file format is PPTX (PowerPoint). If you have a different file type you would like to use, please send us an email at posterorders@igb.illinois.edu

What is the most common poster order?

The current standard we have seen is a 48" x 36" poster on Heavyweight Glossy/Satin or Graphic Matte Canvas

When and where can I pick up my poster?

Once the poster order is completed, you will receive a confirmation email indicating that your poster is ready to be picked up in the CNRG office. Our office is located in room 131 in the concourse of the IGB and we are open from 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. If you need to pick up your poster outside of these hours, please contact us and we can arrange a time for you to pick up your poster.

Can I get a reprint of my poster?

If there is a defect with the final print that is not present in the provided poster file, we will reprint the poster at no cost. If you would like a reprint with an updated poster file, you will need to submit another poster order with the correct file you would like printed.

Why did the width and length of my poster get flipped in my order?

This is done to minimize paper waste and reduce your final cost. The final product will match the dimensions of your poster order after printing and trimming.

Which form of payments do you accept?

We only accept CFOPs as payment. We are not able to accept credit cards, checks or cash. Please contact your advisor or the business office if you do not know which CFOP to use for your order.

Can I have my poster printed using different dimensions than the poster file is set at?

We ask that the dimensions of your poster file and poster order requests match for the best quality. While scaling is an option, it results in a lower quality print with pixelations and distortions.

Do I need to laminate my poster?

No! Lamination is an optional finish we provide for an additional cost. Due to the nature of the paper types, lamination is only possible with Heavyweight Glossy/Satin. Please note that lamination does take additional time and resources to complete compared to a standard poster order.

I want to take my poster on a plane. Which paper type should I choose?

Graphic Matte Canvas is our most travel friendly paper type as it is a foldable paper that can be placed in your luggage. If you are traveling with a non-foldable paper, you can order a poster tube (at an additional cost) to protect the paper.

Can you print multiple copies of the same poster?

We currently do not have a way to process bulk orders. If you would like multiple copies of your poster, please submit an order for each copy.

Can I get a proof of my poster?

If you would like a proof of your poster, please submit an order with the dimensions you want the proof to be printed at. Once you receive the proof and like the results, submit another order with the correct dimensions for your final poster.

What do I need to do if a group of people are going to submit 10 or more orders?

We ask that you give us a week's notice by emailing posterorders@igb.illinois.edu so we can allocate the needed supplies and time. We recommend using the same paper type across all the orders as that will help save time. We also ask that you verify that the dimensions of each poster matches the dimensions in their respective poster orders. Incorrect information will lead to delays as we will need to receive a corrected file or order before processing that order.
