The Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology subsidizes all University of Illinois faculty who use the IGB Core. University of Illinois faculty pay the U of I Faculty rate. The IGB covers the difference between that and the government costing calculated rate labelled U of I Internal rate. Faculty from off campus (without a U of I CFOP) pay the Academic Rate. Industrial researchers pay the External Rate.
