Science Strolls

Science Strolls

Offered for the first time in 2023, this program is a partnership between IGB and the Urbana Park District to offer a series of free community programs that explore our local wildlife. At each event, community members can enjoy a presentation from local experts on a particular type of animal, join a guided outdoor walk, share complimentary snacks inspired by the diets and natural history of the featured animals, and participate in a craft project that supports our local wildlife populations.

Who can attend this event?

This child-friendly event is open to anyone from the public.

Do we need to register to attend?

Yes, there is a registration link we provide before each event due to limited capacity.

Is there a cost to this event?

No, the event is free for the public.

Where does this event take place?

Anita Purves Nature Center
1505 N Broadway Ave, Urbana, IL 61801

What is the format of this event?

A mini talk about the topic, a stroll around as we learn more about the animals, and then a quick craft you can take home after.
