American Indian Studies
American Indian Studies is an interdisciplinary program that offers undergraduate and graduate courses across areas such as Indigenous film and new media, gender and sexuality, Latinx Indigenous migrations, Indigenous women writers of the Midwest, language reclamation and vitalization, and decolonizing methodologies.
Native American House
Native American House (NAH) provides support and programming for Native students at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In addition to empowering students and prompting a sense of belonging, NAH supports students through engagement, academic support, and advocacy.
NAGPRA Office
The NAGPRA Office at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was established in 2020 to ensure campus-wide NAGPRA compliance. The office facilitates consultation with tribal communities and lineal descendants to repatriate Ancestors, as well funerary and sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony.
Indigenous Pathways Program
The Indigenous Pathways Program brings Native high school students to the UIUC campus to learn about university life and opportunities. Students stay overnight on campus, meet with mentors, and explore campus programs and activities. The program is open to students from any Native nation.
SACNAS and Friends UIUC Chapter
The UIUC’s student chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Chicano/Hispanic and Native Americans in the Sciences (SACNAS) and Friends promotes diversity in STEM.
