The Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is offering a science writing fellowship for scholars who have recently completed their PhD to produce written scientific content for web, printed publications, and outreach activities, provide grant editorial services, and coordinate public engagement content in support of our research and outreach endeavors. This may range from articles on scientific research and researchers on the campus, interviews with faculty and campus leadership, and coverage of IGB events, to press releases on new awards, grants, and developments at the institute, grant proposals, and review of syllabi and curriculum for educational activities. Science writer fellows typically spend two years working with the institute. This position is not fully remote. An annual salary of $63,000 will be provided.
