2021 IGB Research Fellows
Offered by the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
The 2021 IGB Research Fellows program is a two-year, paid research opportunity that will prepare a small cohort of undergraduate students at Fisk University for graduate study in genomic biology. All Fellows will first complete a 5-week paid summer orientation at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). The second summer will involve full-time, paid research at UIUC followed by a final academic year dedicated to synthesizing research results and applying for graduate and professional programs.

Eligibility: Current sophomores majoring in biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, physics, computer science, data science or mathematics. Qualified first year students may also apply. Applicants must be US citizens or legal permanent residents.

2021 CPLC Bridge Fellows
Offered by the NSF Physics Frontiers Center for the Physics of Living Cells (CPLC), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
The 2021 CPLC Bridge Fellows program is a two-year, paid research opportunity that will prepare a small cohort of undergraduate students at Fisk University for graduate study in biological physics. All Bridge Fellows will first complete a 5-week summer orientation at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). The second summer will involve full-time, paid research at UIUC followed by a final academic year dedicated to synthesizing research results and applying for graduate and professional programs.
All CPLC Bridge Fellows will be guaranteed admission to graduate study in Physics at UIUC upon completion of the program.
